Johnson & Baker Trucking Inc. is a family-owned business with roots dating back to 1963, when Horace W. Johnson started with a single truck. Over the years, the company expanded into various ventures including farming and grain elevators, while trucking remained the foundation of the business.

Originally operating as Johnson Grain Inc., ownership transitioned to Horace's daughter, Natalie Baker and her husband, Kendall Baker, in 2010, when the business was renamed Johnson & Baker Trucking Inc. In 2016, the company made a strategic decision to focus exclusively on the regional bulk load industry, discontinuing its refrigerated division.
